What is the opening balance requirement for Simply Free Checking?
$25 is the required minimum balance to open a Simply Free Checking account. Furthermore, eStatements are required.
Is this account really free?
Yes, there is not a monthly service charge for the Simply Free Checking account. The Simply Free Checking account requires that you deposit a minimum of $25 and you must enroll in e.Statements. If you choose to receive a monthly paper statement, there is a $5 monthly statement fee charged to your account each month. Closing new accounts within 90 days of opening will result in a $20 early closure fee.
