Tarena Terry

With 25 years of banking experience, including 20 years in Treasury Management (TM), Tarena Terry has built a team that shares her passion for TM and Client Servicing. After a successful stint with Academy Bank from 2013 to 2016 as the Treasury Support Manager, Tarena returned to the Bank in 2023. As the Director, she ensures that our Treasury Management line of business is client-focused and efficient. Tarena oversees TM operations and sales, leading the team in production while serving as a trusted advisor to clients and prospects. She and her team work closely with the Commercial Banking team to ensure a full-service relationship with each commercial loan client.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Tarena's true value lies in her positive, can-do attitude and dedication to continual improvement. Her commitment to community service is evident through her involvement on the boards of the Growing Futures Early Education Center and a chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, where she focuses on supporting families, developing children, and assisting low-income families. Additionally, Tarena actively participates in UMKC’s Banking Leaders of Tomorrow scholarship program as a mentor and guest speaker.

A busy, married mother of three, Tarena continues to pursue self-improvement. She is a graduate of the KC Chamber’s Centurions program and recently completed the "75 Hard Challenge," showcasing her self-discipline and growth mindset.
