The best way to avoid overdrawing your account is to know your account balance. If you know how much money you have available to spend, you know exactly how much you can promise to a seller when using your debit card or doing a check transaction.

At Academy Bank, we make it easy to keep track of your account balance. We offer several tools and resources, so you are always in-the-know as far as your account details.

1. Mobile and Online Banking

With our Mobile and Online Banking service, you can get the same easy-to-use access to your account on any device: desktop, smartphone, or tablet. You can check your account balance, review transactions, set and receive alerts (mobile carrier fees may apply), and transfer funds. Pay bills and much more. Check anytime, from anywhere.

2. In Person at a Branch

You can also simply stop by your nearest branch location. One of our friendly bank associates can check your account balance free of charge when presented with the proper identification. Our in-store Walmart locations also offer extended evening and weekend hours for your convenience.

3. Physical Account Register

Far less common nowadays but still available, you can track your balance with a physical account register. It is essential to write down each transaction, including all deposits and purchases. When you spend money, subtract that amount from the ongoing balance. When you deposit money, add it to the ongoing balance. It only takes a minute, and it helps you know exactly how much you have available in your account to spend.

Simply select the tool that is most convenient for you to stay on top of your account balance so you can be sure sufficient funds are available before making any purchase.
