Academy Bank Helps Clients Navigate Financial Challenges During the Government Shutdown

Following the recent government shutdown on October 1st, Academy Bank is committed to supporting our military community and federal employees through this challenging time. Until the shutdown is resolved, we have prepared several financial relief options to help alleviate the financial impact for our clients and their families.

Special payment assistance programs will be available for eligible members on Academy Bank credit products,* including:

  • Consumer Loans: Provide one-month payment extension at no additional cost.
  • Credit Cards: Provide one-month payment deferment. Interest will continue to accrue during this time.
  • HELOCs (Home Equity Lines of Credit): Provide a one-month payment extension. Interest will continue to accrue and be added to next month’s payment.
  • Mortgages: Academy Bank will evaluate each case individually for a one-month payment extension.**
  • Overdraft Fees: Provide refunds or waivers during the shutdown impact period upon request from clients who identify as affected by the shutdown.
